III. Philosophy of Practice and Counseling
A. As a Christian practice, our staff is committed to Jesus and His church. We seek to incorporate Biblical values into our own lives and into our work with clients. We do not require that our clients believe or practice the Christian faith, but it is important that our clients realize that our staff does. All members of our staff are in agreement with our Statement of Faith and are active members of a church.
B. As a professional practice, our staff maintains the professional counseling license(s) legally appropriate to their scope of client work and to remain current in any continuing professional education or training required for the licenses held.
C. As a group practice, we collaborate as trained and competent professional therapists.Within the group is a variety of experience, skills, and professional identifications. We meet regularly as a staff in order to support one another and stay familiar with important new information in the Mental Health fields.
D. As a non-profit practice, the fees we receive are used to pay the costs of maintaining our offices, billing and record keeping, and providing the best possible services to our clients. We attempt to adjust out-of-pocket costs to our clients, where necessary, through scholarships and reduced fees, in order to provide services to a broader scope of clients. We consider that a client’s family and church should be the first sources of aid for financial support in order to receive counseling.
Wellspring is not a for-profit or competitive practice. We believe in the Body of Christfunctioning interdependently within a community for the benefit of all of its individual members and the Kingdom of God as a whole. Thus, we seek to network with churches, other professionals, para-church organizations, and other disciplines on behalf of our clients to promote holistic healing. We consider the physical, intellectual, emotional, social, behavioral, spiritual, and environmental aspects of a person’s life to all affect his/her emotional well-being.
