Wellspring Counseling, Inc is a nonprofit organization that provides professional, Christian counseling and psycho-education to help people move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability and spiritual maturity and to relieve emotional suffering. Karen Chalmers

Tova Kreps is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the President of Wellspring Counseling. She has been practicing as a therapist with families, couples, individuals and children for the past 19 years. She is a Qualified Counseling Supervisor in the state of Florida.

Tova particularly specializes in trauma and recovery work. She has taught trauma courses at Miami International Seminary and Trinity International University, is a certified practitioner of EMDR, and is a Certified Trauma Specialist.

She has done public speaking and teaching for conferences, workshops, retreats, churches, schools and small groups.

Tova’s prior work experience also includes school counseling at Westminster Christian School, clinical work with emotionally disturbed foster children, and domestic violence. Tova is married and a mother of three.

Christine Schlottman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the Clinical Director of Wellspring Counseling. She specializes in issues regarding grief and loss as well as abuse and trauma. She is a trained practitioner of EMDR and a Certified Trauma Specialist. She counsels children, individual adults, couples and families. She offers her services in English and Spanish. She is a Qualified Counseling Supervisor in the state of Florida.

Christine has taught in the counseling program at Trinity International University and has led workshops on a variety of mental-health topics in the U.S. and in Latin America. Christine's work experience also includes counseling and teaching children in a school setting at Christ Fellowship Academy.

Christine has served as a missionary for over 25 years. Having lived abroad, she understands both the demands of ministry and the complexities of life in a cross-cultural context, and has counseled both immigrants and other Christian workers. Christine is married and a mother of three.




Martha Sullivan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Registered Play Therapist.  She also has a MS in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. She is a Qualified Counseling Supervisor in the state of Florida and holds a certification in Infant Mental Health from the Institute of Children and Family Health. She also has a BS and MS in Nursing, specializing in Maternal-Infant-Child nursing and nursing education.

As a therapist for children and for parents, Martha specializes in attachment and bonding issues with children and parents of all ages.

She has professional experience working with children removed from their homes due to abuse, trauma and neglect. She also has assisted adoptive parents and children with attachment and bonding issues.

In addition to Wellspring, Martha presently works at Trinity International University as the Internship and Counseling Coordinator for Mental Health Counselors. At Trinity she teaches counseling skills and Internship classes.
 


Kay Gackle Registered Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her BS in Psychology from Florida State University and her MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. Kay is also trained in EMDR.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Kay's experiences include working with children and their parents, adolescents, adults with anxiety, grief and loss in both children and adults, EMDR, and couples/marriage counseling. 

Prior to working at Wellspring Counseling, Kay was the Director of the Child Development Center. She is active in Missions, both locally and globally; she has helped set up two rescue homes in Nicaragua, led short-term trips and worked closely with missionaries and their families. Kay is married and a mother of one.



Lyle Green is a Registered Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. He also has his Masters in Theological Studies from Wheaton Graduate School.

Lyle specializes in personal, marital and family counseling. His many years as a counselor and pastor, equip him to support individuals and families through times of crisis or distress.

Lyle has many years of experience in the field in pastoral and clinical counseling, leadership development, writing, preaching and teaching. He has worked as an Associate Pastor for University Baptist Church for 10 years, and at Westminster Christian School for 18 years as a chaplain, leader and teacher.

Lyle is married with one adult child.

Jeff Rice is a Registered Mental Health Counselor. He also is an Ordained Minister through the Evangelical Church Alliance. His Bachelor’s degree is in Interpersonal and Group Communications.

Jeff is a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist specializing in substance abuse and also works with court-ordered substance abuse counseling programs. He is an experienced counselor with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, and anxiety.

As a former high school science teacher, Jeff has a love for teens. Prior life experiences in the Army, National Guard and as a Paramedic suit him well for men or women with similar life experiences.

Jeff enjoys training and motivational speaking. He is married.



Yeney Rodriguez is a Registered Mental Health Counselor. She has her Bachelors and her Masters in Psychology from Trinity International University. Yeney is also trained in EMDR and has specialized trauma training with children.

Yeney specializes in working with youth and trauma. Her work experience includes Miami Children’s Hospital and Aspira, a non-profit leadership and education program for at-risk Latino youth, teaching and developing children’s after-school programs.

Yeney is bilingual English/Spanish, and is adept at working with culturally diverse populations.


Marisol Weaver is Registered Mental Health Counselor. Marisol received her MS in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. Marisol is also trained in EMDR.

As a Mental Health Counselor for children, youth and adults, Marisol's experiences include youth and addictions, EMDR, and anxiety in children and adults. She is bilingual in English/Spanish.

Prior to entering the mental health field, Marisol was a teacher. Marisol is recently married.


Karen Chalmers is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Trauma Specialist trained in EMDR and worked at Wellspring in Miami for the past couple of years. Although Karen now lives in California, she is still part of our team and will continue to work with us.  

Previously in California, she worked with two Christian Counseling organizations and assisted Steve Arteburn, a Christian author, Radio Host and Intensive Healing Seminar's Leader. Karen was a school counselor for Rancho Santa Margarita Catholic School, a chaplain's assistant at Loma Linda University Medical Center and served with Resplendent Hope Ministries in Sri Lanka, and World Vision in Romania. 

She has conducted workshops in Grief & Loss, Trauma Recovery following Natural Disasters, Stress Reduction, Holiday Survival, Depression & Suicide, Parenting Adolescents and Premarital Counseling. She has been a guest speaker on an LA Radio Station.

She has been married for 28 years and has 3 adult children.
